RouteBuddy recognises a GPS device via either Bluetooth or USB connection (some serial devices have also been proved to work using a Serial/USB convertor).

Devices which act as Receivers only

Some of the devices listed below are simply NMEA receivers and will therefore just be named as an “Unknown Device” when they are linked up with RouteBuddy. When testing a device which is or can act as a receiver, it is important to be in a position where you can get a satellite signal to enable you to test whether RouteBuddy is receiving a signal via the device. When the device is in a position where a satellite lock is achieved, click the navigate tool and the position of the device will show on the RouteBuddy Map.

Devices which have the ability to transfer data to/from RouteBuddy

Other devices on the list may be of a type which can transfer information such as Waypoints, Routes and Tracks, it really depends on the extent of the device functionality as to whether it is able to support all the features RouteBuddy has to offer. Some of them may also be able to act as receivers.
