Tracking Options
General
If you wish to Track your route in RouteBuddy, you will need to be connected to a suitable GPS receiver either via USB or Bluetooth. RouteBuddy is compatible with many Garmin, Tom Tom and USGlobalSat receivers, plus many others that communicate over the NMEA protocol standard. When your device is recognised by RouteBuddy the device will appear in the Source List. Click on the device name and the Content Area will show detail about the status of the device.

Keep Device Visible
To keep the device visible when you are on the move with RouteBuddy, from the menu bar select Map > Keep Visible.

Start Tracking
Click on the device name in the Source List and click on Show Track. This will show your track on the RouteBuddy map as you are moving along. A track will appear as joined up red dots on the map.
Save Track
When you have finished recording your track click on Save Track in the device information panel.
Track Review
Click once on a specific track on the map or in the Content Area list below and the track will be highlighted in blue. To look at the detailed information for saved tracks and information relating to them, double click on the track name in the Content Area list or double click on the track on the map. Altitude information for tracks will be added in a near future release of RouteBuddy.
