Tracking Options

If you wish to Track your route in RouteBuddy, you will need to be connected to a suitable GPS receiver either via USB or Bluetooth. RouteBuddy is compatible with many Garmin, Tom Tom and USGlobalSat receivers, plus many others that communicate over the NMEA protocol standard.

For more about connecting your GPS device please refer to the section "Use your GPS Device"

When you connect your device to your computer RouteBuddy will attempt to interact with the device and the device will appear in the Source List.
Click on the device in the Source List and the Content panel will show detail about the status of the device. If RouteBuddy does not recognise the device in name but is able to communicate with it , report the device and it will be recognised by name the next time you connect.
