Click on the Search tool in either the Library list or in the Toolbar, or use Ctrl+F (Windows) Cmd+F (Mac).
RouteBuddy will take you to the Search window which will show the same map view you were looking at in either your Locations or Place file.

Please note that the search for addresses and waypoints function will not work with RouteBuddy Topographic maps.
If, however, you also have the RouteBuddy Road Map loaded and enabled for the area you are viewing, the search function will still be able to find addresses and waypoints and these will show up on the topographic map as well as the road map, whichever one you are viewing at the time.
We would mention that the OS Gazetteer only contains 250,000 Points of Interest and is not accurate as it only shows the sq. km. the POI is in.
The road map data is detailed down to the exact location and also shows roads, and lanes etc plus there are over a million POIs and place-names in total.
If you want to search for a grid reference or or coordinate, this can be accomplished by the following:
The bottom of Search window Content Area will change into a Find facility where you can choose to Find by Address; by all Points of Interest or by a sub-category of Points of Interest.
Go to the Find a Location topic for more details on searching for an address or point of interest.
It is important to understand that the search window is a facility to search only. Once you have found the address or point of interest you are searching for, drag it into your Place file to store the address or point of interest to use however you wish e.g. make a route.
We advise that unless you are using a Place file which you have previously set up, that you set up a new Place file before you go into Search so that you have somewhere to readily drag the addresses and Points of Interest you have found and want to use.
You will not be able to save the waypoint in the Search window therefore the waypoint tool will be grayed out.
