The RouteBuddy software application and maps can be purchased from the RouteBuddy store via our secure payment e-commerce site hosted by Kagi
If you are buying the RouteBuddy application, select whether you wish to purchase RouteBuddy for Windows or RouteBuddy for Mac OSX.
RouteBuddy Maps are cross-platform so you do not need to specify which platform you will be using them on. However, it is a licence condition of some of our data suppliers (Ordnance Survey GB and TomTom) that the maps you purchase can only be loaded on two devices at any one time. As an example, OSGB maps can be loaded onto one iOS device (iPad or iPhone or iPod touch) and a Computer. TomTom road maps cannot be loaded on to iOS devices but they can be loaded on to up to two computers.
If you wish to load the maps on to more than two devices (e.g. iPad, iPhone and computer) then you must purchase additional licences accordingly. These are available as secondary licences at a lower cost - please contact support@routebuddy.com
Failure to comply with licensing conditions is contravening the terms and conditions of your licence.
Each time you add an item to your basket you will be taken to Shipping Options. Most customers opt for a download link for their purchase but some like to have a disk sent if they think that the file is too large for their ISP allowances to download. The larger road map files are 4-6Gb in size and can take a long time to download and interruptions may cause the download to be corrupted. Disks purchased at the same time as purchasing the map will cost less than those purchased subsequently.
On the shipping options page you can either: Return to Store; Empty your Basket or Confirm shipping. When you have finished shopping make sure all the shipping options on your items have been checked and then select Confirm Shipping.
You will then be taken to the Shipping confirmation page where you will be shown a summary of your purchases and shipping options chosen. If these are correct then click the Proceed to Payment button where you will be transferred to the Kagi e-commerce system for secure payment processing.
The next page will give you a summary of your purchases excluding any sales tax or VAT. On this page you will be asked your payment method and shipping address. There is also a space to enter any coupon/promotional code that you have been given. Once you have completed this page, click the Checkout button.
On the next page you will be given the totals of your purchase reduced by any discount your are due and sales tax / VAT will have been added where appropriate. Complete the details on this page for:
Once you have clicked “Purchase” Kagi will take your details and process your payment.
Kagi will send you a “Thanks for your Purchase” email summarising your purchase details.
Shortly following the email from Kagi will be an email from RouteBuddy Support (tfyp@routebuddy.com) providing you with the download links for the products you have purchased and your licence code for each product. It is important that you keep a copy of this email as, if for any reason you need to re-download the software and re-licence, you will then have all the information you need to do so. When you make your purchase you will be offered the chance to purchase a license code look up service which is £5 for each product license code issued. This will mean that you have the assurance that if you do lose your license codes we will find them for you on our database.
The email will also contain a link for you to download the latest version of the RouteBuddy Application. Follow the on-screen instructions and using the Installing RouteBuddy section of this guide to help you, then apply your license code following the instructions in Licensing section of this manual.
Please ensure that you are able to receive all emails from addresses ending in @routebuddy.com
