amended 17 Feb 2012 in preparation for release of vsn 3.3
Download the RouteBuddy Map .iso file(s) from the link(s) sent to you within your licence email from RouteBuddy Support or, if you have ordered DVDs, copy the files from the DVDs to your desktop and follow the instructions below.
We recommend that you check the size of the file you have downloaded against the file size stated on the store page for the map you have purchased. Please refer to the download problems page for more information about downloading larger maps.
Note: RouteBuddy maps are packaged as .iso files because this is a cross platform format and also we have some large map files which cannot be placed into a normal zipped file (large files cannot be opened using WinZip). The folder with a name extension of .rbmap will be extracted from the .iso file and installed on your computer.

Follow the instructions below to find out where the .rbmap folders have been installed on your computer, then refer to the Atlas manual for copying the map to your device.
Please note that only RouteBuddy Topo maps can be installed into Atlas not RouteBuddy Road Maps.
In the RouteBuddy application choose File>Reveal Maps from the menu bar and you will be shown where your .rbmap files have been placed on your computer.
If you want to install your maps on an iOS device leave the window showing the .rbmaps open on your desktop and proceed with instructions in the Atlas manual to access the Maps folder on your iOS device.
Advanced users can also use the "AppData\Local" directory under their user account to store maps. RouteBuddy will not attempt to create this directory, but will use it if you prefer to place your maps outside of your documents.
If you decide to change the default installation location of the software please refer to the RouteBuddy Files section of the manual to ensure that Maps are also installed in the correct location for access by the RouteBuddy program.
