RouteBuddy Application and Map Licensing

When you purchase any of the RouteBuddy products (Application and/or Maps) you will be sent a licence email from RouteBuddy support. This contains the download link(s) for the RouteBuddyProduct(s) you have purchased together with your unique license codes.
If you have decided not to download and have paid for a DVD to be sent to you, the same license codes sent to you in this email will apply to the map files contained on the DVD

How to License your RouteBuddy products

Click on “Purchases” in the Source List. You will see in the content area icons for the RouteBuddy products you have installed.
Any with a Padlock sign will mean that this product is installed on the machine but unlicensed.

Copying and Pasting your licence code

  • Click on the RouteBuddy product you want to license.
  • Go to the email and copy by using the keyboard command: Opt+C (Mac) Ctrl+C (Windows) the User Name and License code details from your licence email by highlighting all of the lines containing the User Name and License Code. Do not try to copy and paste these lines separately. 
  • The “Paste Email” button will be highlighted so click to Paste the user name and license codes from the copy you took from the licence email. 
  • If you have entered the correct license for the product, a confirmation sheet will appear.

License code doesn’t work?

This is generally down to the license code being entered incorrectly.

  • Typing the code in leads to errors. Due to the complexity of the code, if you choose to type in your User Name and License it is prone to human error. It is much better to use the instructions to copy and paste.
  • Copy both user name and licence code all in one copy action, and then the paste button lights up

Also! Please note that the map must be installed before you can license it. Look for the map icon in the purchases window.

If the download of the map file has not completed successfully (i.e. partial map file) you will not be able to licence the map
If downloading via your usual web browser does not work then please try using an alternative such as Firefox, Camino or Safari.

When you have started the download don’t be tempted to click on the file until completely downloaded and, when it is complete.

If you still have difficulty (from a corrupted map download) and would like to receive a DVD/USB storage device all you need to do is go into the store again and purchase the delivery method of your choice. Delivery time generally 5-10 working days (they will come from the U.K.).
