Devices
As and when GPS devices are attached to the computer via Bluetooth or USB, the device will appear in the source list.
Click on the device name in the source list and the Device Window will appear:

The device window provides:
- Information about the device
- The location of the device if a satellite signal is being received through the device into RouteBuddy
- Tracking information if the device is receiving GPS signals at the time of connection
- Sychronize – the options available for Synchronizing your device will depend on the functionality of the device. NMEA receivers will not have a Synchronize facility. Devices that have the ability to transfer and save any of the three data types: Waypoints, Routes and Tracks will synchronize according to their functionality. It is important that you check out the functionality of your device before trying to synchronize with RouteBuddy as failure to synchronize is generally because the device does not support that particular function (e.g. some devices will only support the transfer of waypoints, some will also support the transfer of routes and tracks)
More about how to set up your device if it is not immediately recognised can be found in the section on How to Use your GPS Device
Always remember to eject the device before removing the cable
Your computer will also appear as a Device as the location of the computer will be found using the WiFi location
